Excerpts from
Adventures of a Weekend Farmer

In 1981 George and his wife, Andrea, bought an 80-acre farm in southwest Michigan, about 80 miles from downtown Chicago, which they have named Sugarwood Farm.  Some of the things they learned about buying and enjoying country property are summarized in Adventures of a Weekend Farmer, a published series of essays written by George about his experiences, which is available for purchase further down on the home page of this web site. Three of those essays involve the cooperative interactions between George and Rick, the Platz Brothers, and are offered here for your reading enjoyment for free.
